QUESTION: DOES THE BLACK BERKEY PURIFICATION ELEMENT REMOVE CHLORAMINE?

ANSWER:   While we have not tested specifically for chloramine, further research indicates that our Black Berkey purification elements should significantly reduce/remove chloramine in your water. This is based on information obtained from the Central Coast Water Authority website (www.ccwa.com/chloramines.html) and others which state that a "carbon filter will remove chloramines" as long as it is made of high quality carbon and sufficient contact time is allowed; both of which are the case for the Black Berkey purification elements.
